Today the 1st of September marks the celebration of Arbor Day at NTL Baraka-Eco Farm. The NTL Baraka farm is situated almost 50 kilometres from Tzaneen in Limpopo. The Minister and Deputy Minister of Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) together with the acting MEC for Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) were also there to grace the occasion

Agri-business women applauded the Female Farmer Summit that preceded the provincial Female Entrepreneur Awards on 16 August 2016. At the summit, female farmers shared experiences in their Agricultural businesses.
Cecilia Mamabolo, Capricorn District farmer, scooped R375 000.00 during the annual Provincial Female Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (FEA) in Polokwane on 16 August 2016. This occurred after pocketing R125 000.00 as a top winner in the Commercial category and R250 000.00 for being crowned the overall winner.


The youth should consider Agriculture as an engine to drastically change South Africa's socio-economic shape, Mr Zunaid Mosam stated at the Limpopo Provincial Youth Agricultural Summit on 27 July 2016 at Khoza farms in Bela-Bela -Waterberg.
Following his roadshow on drought earlier this year at Eldorado Sports Complex, Blouberg Local Municipality, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) Bheki Cele re-visited the area on 21 July 2016.
Educators were part of delegates who witnessed their learners battling it up for the 2016 Provincial JuniorCare competition held in Polokwane on 20 July 2016.
Young farmers shone during the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) initiated Aspirant Young Farmer of the Year Awards hosted at Bela-Bela in Waterberg District on 27 July 2016.


Head of Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) Ms. Jaqueline Maisela led the department in celebrating the International Nelson Mandela Day at Mhinga Special School, Thulamela Municipality in Vhembe on 18 July 2016.The global celebration encourages the culture of collective volunteerism by selflessly contributing to the less-privileged, said HOD in a prepared speech.

The LDARD Receives Unqualified Report

The Auditor General has given the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) good health of its financial matters. The LDARD has received an unqualified audit report for the previous financial year. The Department has achieved this for three years in succession. The Auditor General, Mr Terrence Nombembe indicated in his report released to the Provincial Legislature that the financial position of the LDARD for the previous financial year was in accordance with the requirements of the PFMA.

The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) has done it again at PMR Africa Awards by scooping two Diamond Arrow Awards on 24 August 2012 at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane. A random survey found the LDARD as the Provincial Department that has been most effective in achieving its goals and earned the first diamond award. The second diamond award is a reward for the LDARD’s commendable initiatives specifically the Limpopo DAFF Female Entrepreneur of the Year Project.
