Ululating and dancing best described the introduction of Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) initiated Persons with Disabilities in Agriculture and Rural Development (PDARD) Recognition Awards at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane on 29 November 2016.

“We don’t want to remain at the same level, but we want to see ourselves growing to an extent that we don’t depend on government for everything,” indicated Mr Seun Mathale, Limpopo’s chair of Persons with Disabilities in Agriculture and Rural Development (PDARD) at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane on 29 November 2016.

Kopano Disabled Cooperative was honoured at its Swaartkop farms in an event facilitated by the Limpopo Department of Economic Development and Tourism (LEDET) at Ephraim Mogale Municipality on the 17 November 2016. The cooperative has put Limpopo Province high on the map by clinching the Best Cooperative Excellence Award in South Africa at the national awards hosted

Vencor Abattoir emerged victorious in the first Provincial Abattoir Rating Awards (PARA) held at Mopani Rest Camp, Phalaborwa on 23 November 2016. The said abattoir won in the category of High Through Put under Read Meat Abattoir Awards and also walked away with MEC Special Award.

Officials of the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) have donated blood on 17 November 2016 at the LDARD Headquarters-Temo Towers in Polokwane. With the South Africa National Blood Services (SANBS) in charge, the LDARD staff queued outside the second floor board room, completed forms whilst some were had their blood pressure (BP) checked and blood drawn inside.

Sane Village, Vhembe District-On Saturday the 12th of November tomato giant Doctor Ntuseni JamesonNesane passed on after a short illness. Doctor Nesane started farming with tomatoes in 1986 at Nwanedi. When he started farming he did not have formal education that can enable
one to reach grater heights as he left school doing standard 2 (now called grade 4).

Acting Limpopo Premier and Public Works, Road and Infrastructure MEC Jerry Ndou handed over a house to a senior citizen during the EXCO outreach at Ga-Makhushane village, Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality on 11 November 2016.
Koko Makgomo Malatji was one of recipients of the 42 four-roomed-furnished [RDP] houses at the village.

The LDARD Receives Unqualified Report

The Auditor General has given the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) good health of its financial matters. The LDARD has received an unqualified audit report for the previous financial year. The Department has achieved this for three years in succession. The Auditor General, Mr Terrence Nombembe indicated in his report released to the Provincial Legislature that the financial position of the LDARD for the previous financial year was in accordance with the requirements of the PFMA.

The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) has done it again at PMR Africa Awards by scooping two Diamond Arrow Awards on 24 August 2012 at Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane. A random survey found the LDARD as the Provincial Department that has been most effective in achieving its goals and earned the first diamond award. The second diamond award is a reward for the LDARD’s commendable initiatives specifically the Limpopo DAFF Female Entrepreneur of the Year Project.
