The functions are to:

• Provide agricultural technical services
• Provide general administrative support services
• Provide agricultural services in districts
• Provide administrative and logistical support to MEC.

Districts & Sub-Districts
The purpose is to provide agricultural services in the Districts

The functions are to:

• Provide agricultural research and technology development services
• Manage extension and training services
• Manage eastern and western district services

Eastern and Western Districts
The purpose is to manage Eastern (Bohlabela, Mopani, Vhembe) and Western (Capricorn, Sekhukhune, Waterberg) district services and to execute agricultural support functions within the districts

The functions are to:

• Provide agricultural advisory services
• Provide veterinary services
• Provide agricultural value chain servicesProvide land use and infrastructure development
• Render land agrarian reform and development services
• Manage agricultural support services in municipalities
• Provide financial administration
• Provide corporate services
